#500 quilt blocks QAL

Ok, this is probably ridiculous because I don't think anyone has read my blog but I am starting a QAL from the book 500 quilt blocks as mentioned in my last post.
I plan on making as many blocks as I think I need for a quilt and since I have started I have picked a red pink purple blue colour scheme.
Join in if you want!

Block 1- Granny square

Block 2- Churn Dash

Block 3- Father's choice

I am not worrying too much about colours at the moment but I am going to try to stick to the scheme, I think this is something that unifies sampler quilts.

Back to it

Hi there,

I have joined an online quilting bee, through Threadbias and now I am seriously hooked, so many nice comments that now I just want to sew more.

Here are my blocks for May

I am really happy with how they turned out.

I have another idea now. I bought the book by Lynne Goldsworthy and Kerry Green, it is called 500 quilt blocks, I think I will try to make 1 block a month from there and maybe put them into a quilt at the end. Similar to the farmers wife quilt along. Ambitious? Maybe, but if I don't set goals, I won't get there.

Next idea..I'll save that for the next post.

Once a week may have been a little optimistic or Maybe I'll blog just once a month then

I made this little patch of 1 inch finished squares(it was a mistake actually). The colours were so beautiful and after it hang in my sewing room for a few days I needed to turn it into something useful.

Some old projects

Here is a quilt I made inspired by Blue is bleu's mini rainbow quilt. Her work is so beautiful.

And here is a quilt I made from the remnant bin of my local quilt store for my baby boy.

I have successfully managed to grow some flowers this spring, quite the domestic goddess!

So today I made a couple of fabric buckets using Film in the fridge's tutorial.

which was given another use by little H

And here is a sneak peek at my WIP pixelated heart quilt

Just quilted in a diagonal crosshatch, and waiting for the binding.
Obviously inspired by the beautiful work of Blue elephant stitches.

New years resolution

Ok for 2014 I am determined to blog at least once a week.........., so i already broke that one but i am going to start now.
This week has been busy with overseas guests, birthdays and lots of outings but now things are slowing down and yesterday i finished the quilting on my pixelated heart quilt.
I also had the opportunity to pop in to the local fabric store where i found Sarah Jane's "out to sea" on special and a few remnants for my stash.
